Log into your "My Esri" account by visiting . Obtain the license files from your account in order to access ArcGIS Enterprise on the Remote Desktop. It's important to note that to complete this task you'll need to verify that you have a "Commercial/Developer Subscription" with Esri. Only this subscription type will allow you to download the necessary license files for the Remote Desktop.

Once logged in, select the "My Organizations" Tab, followed by the "Developer" link where you will find a variety of offered services. The license files required for this step can be found by clicking "Create New Provisioning File", under the Developers menu on the left-hand side. After selecting the link, go through and find the necessary Provisioning Files for the ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6, which includes ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS. It's recommended to select the "Core Products and Extensions" Provision option, as you will need both in order to complete the next steps when activating licenses for both ArcGIS Server and Portal.

Next, download the ArcGIS Web Adapter to your Remote Desktop. This can be done in the same fashion, by selecting the "My Organizations" tab, followed by the "Developer" link. The ArcGIS Web Adapter can be found through the "Products" link under the Developers menu on the left-hand side, then by searching through the ArcGIS Enterprise for the ArcGIS Web Adapter (IIS).

Steps to Download Provisioning Files

  • Log into "My Esri" by visiting

  • Find Provisioning files for ArcGIS Server and Portal from the Commercial/Developer Subscription (Select the My Organizations Tab)

Steps to Download Web Adapter

  • From My Esri Developer Subscription - Products, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Web Adapter (IIS)

  • Download and Install on Machine
