To ensure the components for standing up the ArcGIS Enterprise are ready for use, first confirm they are running or "Started" for use. For future uses and logins, it's good practice to set them to automatically turn on when logging into or turning on the remote desktop.

First, open the Windows Services application from the Start Menu and find the services required for use (World Wide Web, DataStore, ArcGIS Server, and Portal). Next, turn these services on by right-clicking on each and changing the "Startup Type" to "Automatic." If the "Service Status" is not shown as "Running", click the "Start" button. This step is very important as services that have not been started will not open during the course of the Enterprise Startup.

Steps to Enable Automatic Startup

  • Open the 'Services' App from the Start Menu

  • Right-click each service and select 'Properties'

  • Choose 'Automatic' for Startup Type

  • Select 'Apply'

  • Confirm the service has started by checking the service status

  • Select 'OK'

With automatic startup enabled, the next step is to install Chrome.
